Getting our books out in the world tends to slow us down, huh?
How do we tell people about our books? What's the best way to reach the most people? How do we make more $$?
I've been learning a lot about getting more book sales, and these are three ways that can help:
Use other people's platforms
Getting in front of bloggers', booktubers', and podcasters' audiences is an awesome way to boost your book sales. Rather than always going for that one-on-one connection, search for people with an audience interested in your book.
Great people to connect with are:
- bloggers
- booktubers
- radio hosts
- podcasters
- journalists
- magazines
All of these can help you get exposure for your book.
Do interviews
This is similar to the above tip, but this is more about where you do interviews. People have lots of ways to interview you; some are written-only, video-only, audio-only, and more.
You can find people who need interviewees at
- book fairs
- conventions (y'know for your fellow book nerds)
- book tours
- art festivals
One of the easier options
Add a call-to-action (CTA). You've got a short time to pique someone's interest.
A short "Buy my book" or "Enjoy a free copy" can help tons.
Pair your short CTA with a direct link to your Amazon page, Linktree, or website with links in places like your email signature, social accounts, and more, and it can do wonders.
Another way to get two-bonuses-for-the-price-of-one is to send people to a subscription form. They can subscribe to your newsletter.
Once they do, you can send them valuable and fun newsletters (like this one!) and a link to your book.
You'll have a lot less competition since you're in their email. |
